1)              See patient @ the end of office hours if possible

2)            Masks if patient is coughing

3)            Gloves for exam

4)            Clean stethoscopes between patients

a.   Avoid cloth covers

5)            Disinfectant that states it kills S aureus

a.   Anything patient touches or examiner touches with gloves

b.  Minimum wet time on surfaces of 10 minutes for most products

6)            Universal Precautions

7)            Explain the following terms to the patient

a.   Carrier

b.  Colonization

c.   Infection
