STANDING ORDERS FOR INFANTS BORN TO HIV + MOMS

1)    1)    Notify Dr. upon arrival to NBN

2)   2)   Labs: CD4/CD8 version, HIV viral load assay, Retic, CBC, VDRL, Liver function panel (VDRL and LFT can be drawn on day 2)

3)   3)   ZDV syrup @ 2mg/kg body weight/dose q 6 hours for the first six weeks of life beginning 8-12 hours p birth

4) NO breastfeeding
